Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee Le Thi Thai Duong recently played host to Mrs Khamsiboulom, the Deputy Chief of the Lao Savannakhet Provincial Governor’s Secretariat. The purpose of the Lao guest’s visit was to donate a total of 12 tons of rice from her province to local families affected by storm No 12 last year.

On behalf of the provincial authorities, Ms Khamsiboulom expressed her deep sympathy to storm-affected residents. She hoped that the city’s residents would get back to their normal lives as soon as possible under the effective support of the city authorities.

The Lao guest also expressed her belief that Da Nang would achieve even more success in years ahead.

In reply, Vice Chairwoman Duong thanked the provincial authorities for their donations, and added that this would help to strengthen long-lasting friendships between Da Nang and Laotian Southern localities. She also remarked that the donated rice would be given to storm-affected people. In detail, 4 tons of rice will go to residents in Hoa Vang District, whilst Ngu Hanh Son and Lien Chieu districts will receive 2 tons of rice each. Each of Thanh Khe, Hai Chau, Son Tra and Cam Le districts will get a ton of rice.
