Notably, South Korean, one of the biggest contingents of foreign tourists to Viet Nam, is heavily favouring Da Nang as an ideal summer destination.

Ticket Monster Inc., one of South Korea’s largest travel booking sites, has named the central coastal city amongst top 10 places of choice by families and couples this summer based on the number of bookings in the next 2 months.

Party Secretary Truong Quang Nghia said the city authorities are currently reviewing its existing socio-economic development plans in a bid to find new strategic directions in the coming time.

He also re-affirmed the city leaders’ keen interest in such South Korean-invested projects in Viet Nam as SAMSUNG Group, HYUNDAI, as well as this East Asian country’s hi-tech development strengths.

The host noted that the economic cooperation potential between Da Nang and many South Korean localities has yet to be fully tapped. Given this fact, he asked for help from Ambassador Kim to appeal for even more South Korean investment inflows in such Da Nang’s aspects as hi-tech and IT.

In reply, the South Korean ambassador highly appreciated Central Viet Nam for its investment attraction potential and incentive policies, especially Da Nang emerging as an inviting destination for domestic and foreign investors.

The guest also suggested that Da Nang should speed up the development of healthcare, education and housing services, plus other related aspects in order to satisfy the demands amongst international investors, including those from South Korea, during their stay here.

In particular, the South Korean diplomat said he would ask for official permission from  the Vietnamese government to establish the South Korean Consulate General in Da Nang in an attempt to accelerate the bilateral cooperation between the 2 sides in a more practical and effective manner in the years ahead.
