He was accompanied by some representatives from the municipal departments of Publicity and Training, and Information and Communications, and the city’s Party Committee Office.

The city leader extended his best wishes to the editors, reporters and staff of the newspaper on the occasion of their special day.

He highly praised the newspaper’s editors and its staff for enhancing the quality of their publications in order to provide its readers with multi-dimensional information in a prompt and effective manner.

In particular, there have been high-quality stories vividly reflecting all aspects of social life and Party and government building work, publicising the instructions from the city authorities, and promoting the patriotic emulation movements across the city.

Given these great efforts, the organisation has strongly affirmed its stated role as ‘the voice of the party, government and people of Da Nang’.

The city leader also underlined importance of upholding the newspaper’s strengths, promote its publicity of the city’s strategies about building Da Nang into an environmentally friendly city, the landmark campaign ‘2018: The Year of Investment Promotion’, and other important development plans.

Alongside, there should be more articles honouring those doing good deeds, strictly criticising any negative phenomena in society, helping to fight against hostile forces from distorting the truth and making plots and actions of sabotage and aggression against the Party, the State and the city’s government, thereby partly fostering the city’s progress.

He also took the opportunity to appeal for the newspaper’s reporters to uphold their work ethics, and raise their sense of responsibility to justify their positions as soldiers on the cultural and ideological front.

In reply, the newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief Truong Cong Dinh thanked the city leaders for their kind concern and support for his organisation over recent years. He remarked that the newspaper has received high praise from domestic and foreign readers for its ceaseless innovations in high-quality publications.

The newspaper leader also asked for help from the city leader to build the newspaper’s online editorial board and upgrade the existing information website into a digital newspaper in the coming time.

Furthermore, the Editor-in-Chief hoped the city leaders would continue giving more instructions and providing important information for the newspaper in a timely fashion so that it can fulfill their publicity tasks in a more effective manner.
