Also present at the reception for the Laos guests were municipal People’s Council Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung, and People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho.

Secretary Nghia expressed his delight at the special solidarity and multi-faceted cooperative ties between Da Nang and Laotian localities, and between the 2 countries as a whole, progressing in a practical, intensive and result-oriented manner. This positive result has been greatly attributed by the great efforts made by the 2 countries’ NAs.

In particular, the city Party chief emphasised that the Party, government and people of Da Nang have always paid special attention to implementing cooperation programmes with Lao localities in order to deepen the time-honoured traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the 2 countries.

To date, Da Nang has entered into a total of 30 agreements and memoranda of understanding with such Lao localities as Vientiane, Savannakhet, Champasak, Sekong and Salavan in agriculture, health care, education, culture, social affairs, the promotion of bilateral exchanges and business support activities, plus other aspects.

Now, 4 enterprises hailing from Da Nang are operating effectively in Laos, with a total investment capital of nearly 52.3 million USD.

The city leader vowed that his city would continue to enhance the cooperative ties, to share information and experience with Lao localities in certain aspects in which the 2 sides show their keen interest in the coming time, hereby helping to strengthening the “forever green and forever sustainable” friendship and solidarity between the 2 countries.

In reply, Lao NA Vice Chairman Sengnouane Xayalath affirmed that a visit to Viet Nam by the Lao NA members had gained many good results.

Also, the Lao official asked for help from Da Nang to carry out even more practical bilateral tourism promotion activities as an active response to the ongoing Laos Tourism Year 2018, which is running effectively in an effort to attract more tourists.
