In his remarks at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary Tri said that the 3 boats totalling over 10 billion VND showed deep sentiments of the Da Nang government and its people to Truong Sa soldiers and residents.
Mr Tri affirmed that his city’s authorities would continue joining efforts with people and naval forces nationwide to enhance the spiritual and material lives of officers and men in Truong Sa Island District and marine defence platform DK1, as well as help them feel secure whilst being on their duty.
On behalf of Truong Sa soldiers and residents, Rear Admiral Hai thanked the Da Nang leaders for their sentimental attachment to national naval soldiers, especially Truong Sa soldiers.
He vowed to transfer the meaningful gift to Truong Sa soldiers as soon as possible in a bid to encourage them to continue their efforts to safeguard Viet Nam's sovereignty over its sea and islands.
Having been built at X70 Factory, each boat is 7.69 m in length and 2.34 m in width, and its hull is made of composite materials. Its sandwich-shaped three-layer structure is highly durable, bump-resistant, and abrasion-resistant.
