A group of 47 members of Da Nang’s Youth Union (YU), including young doctors, public servants and university students, are carrying out voluntary work in Laos from 15 to 22 July.

During their one-week stay in Laos, the Da Nang volunteers are offering free medical examinations and medicines to 3,000 residents in the Laotian provinces of Salavan and Champasak, and presenting gifts worth 500,000VND each, to 300 poor local families there.

Furthermore, the Da Nang visitors are donating 6 computers and 6 sets of sport equipment to the Laos YU organisations.

Within the framework of the trip, the city’s volunteers are enthusiastically taking part in cultural exchanges and sporting activities with their Laotian friends.

The volunteer journey is part of the 2018 International Summer Voluntary Programme which has been launched by the municipal YU organisation.

This is the eighth time that the Da Nang YU members have participated in voluntary work in Laos, hereby helping to deepen the special long-lasting friendship between the 2 countries.
