Singapore's support for making city more modern and civilised
Politburo member Nguyen Van Binh, the Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee cum Head of its Commission for Economic Affairs, on Friday, played host to Mr Douglas Foo, the President of the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) cum Founder and Chairman of Sakae Holdings.
Also present at the reception was Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan.
The event was within the framework of a workshop in Da Nang on promoting its development in the current context of the country’s industrialisation and modernisation.
Mr Douglas Foo presented his ideas and shared experience in supporting Da Nang to ensure its comprehensive development towards modern civilisation based on Singapore’s successful development model.
In reply, Mr Binh highly appreciated the city-state’s great support and bilateral cooperation with Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, over recent years. In particular, he underlined a need for the city authorities to fully tap potential cooperation opportunities with Singapore in the coming time.
Also at the event, the Vietnamese Party official asked for help from Mr Douglas Foo to appeal for even more human resources from Singapore and other countries worldwide to work in Da Nang, hereby partly accelerating its progress in the years ahead.
