Appealing for even more US investors to city
During his reception on Monday in Da Nang for US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Viet Nam Daniel J. Kritenbrink, municipal Party Committee Secretary Truong Quang Nghia expressed his delight at the growing friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Da Nang and US localities, and between the 2 countries as a whole.

The host briefed his US guest on the positive results from his recent working trip to the USA which aimed to attract even more US investors to the city. Also, Secretary Nghia thanked the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City for its active support for the important working trip by the city leaders.
In addition, the city Party chief asked for help from the US ambassador to appeal for even more US businesses to invest into Da Nang in the years ahead.
In reply, Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink highly applauded the effective cooperation between the 2 countries over recent years, especially in the settlement of war consequences in Viet Nam, with a special heed to maintaining the environmental remediation of dioxin contamination at the city’s international airport.
In particular, the US diplomat emphasised that the USA is committed to becoming a reliable and close partner towards Viet Nam, as well as being a good partner and a good friend towards Da Nang in particular.
The US guest expressed his belief that Da Nang would become one of the USA’s best partners in all aspects in the coming time.
Also the same day, municipal People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho warmly received Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink and thanked him for his enthusiasm and high sense of responsibility in the successful organisation of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 in the city.
Currently, Da Nang is home to 53 US-invested projects worth 519.134 million US$. In the 1st half of this year, the city’s total exports to the USA hit an estimated 150 million USD, up 11% against the same period last year.
Da Nang has established bilateral relationships with many non-governmental organisations in the USA through the effective implementation of numerous projects involving in healthcare, education, and humanitarian aids.
Also, Chairman Tho said he would like Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink to encourage even more US businesses to invest in Da Nang, especially in such aspects of mutual interest as education, hi-tech, information technology, and smart city development.
The US Ambassador affirmed US businesses’ great strengths and potential in such aspects as green growth, information technology, hi-tech, education, and healthcare.
