As part of their recent working trip to the USA, a delegation of Da Nang’s leaders, led by municipal Party Committee Secretary Truong Quang Nghia visited the Embassy of Viet Nam in the USA on 2 September (local time in Washington DC).

During his reception for the Da Nang visitors, Vietnamese Ambassador to the USA Ha Kim Ngoc briefed them on the USA’s current situation, and some remarkable achievements gained by his agency over recent years in such aspects of political, economic and cultural diplomacy.

In reply, Secretary Nghia also briefed the hosts on his city’s socio-economic development over the past years, and introduced to local development orientations in the years ahead. He added top priority would be given to developing Da Nang into a smarter and sustainable city, and a hub for high-quality services and hi-tech.

The city party chief noted that the Da Nang delegation would organise a seminar in San Francisco to promote investment into the city. He, therefore, asked for help from Vietnamese ambassador Ngoc, plus the Embassy’s staff members, to facilitate the city to well prepare for the event.

Also, Mr Nghia asked for help from the Embassy’s staff members to encourage more US investors to invest into Da Nang, with a focus on such aspects as hi-tech, information technology, education, healthcare, logistics, and hi-tech agricultural production.
