In his remarks at the event, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Van Mien expresssed his delight at the fine development of bilateral relations between Viet Nam and the USA through visits by high-ranking officials. Specifically mentioned was the State visit to Viet Nam by the US President Donald Trump from 10 - 12 November 2017 to attend the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017.

Vice Charman Mien added his city has established cooperative relations with Oakland City, California, in 2005, and Pittsburgh City, Pennsylvania, in 2008. He noted currently Da Nang was now home to 53 US-invested projects with a total investment capital of around 520 million USD.

Vice Chairman Mien remarked his city is rolling out the red carpet for investors from multinational corporations to learn about the investment environment and cooperation opportunities in various aspects which focus on hi-tech, information technology (IT), clean industry, tourism, trading, education and social welfare programmes. The intention was to build Da Nang into an environmentally friendly city with developed economy.

He noted the 2 parks were considered as inviting investment venues for foreign investors, including those from the USA, thanks to their favourable geographical locations, synchronous infrastructure, and the city’s preferential policies.

During the talk, the Da Nang visitors briefed the invited guests on the city’s investment environment and business opportunities, plus local incentive policies. In addition, they answered questions raised by the participants about the city’s investment environment, human resources and others.

The US investors spoke highly the city’s open, fair, and transparent investment environment, and its development orientations. They also affirmed that the bilateral cooperative relations between the USA and Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, would be further strengthened in the years ahead.

During his closing speech at the event, Secretary Nghia pledged to enhance his city’s investment environment through practical actions in order to attract even more foreign investors to the city.
