Chairman Tho remarked Japan was now one of the city’s most important partners. As of July, the city had been home to 143 Japanese businesses and representative offices, plus Japanese-invested projects worth a total of 530 million USD. Most of the projects were mainly involved in such aspects as manufacturing, processing, information technology (IT), science and technology, restaurants and hotels.
In addition, the direct flights connecting Da Nang with Narita and Osaka, are operating effectively. This has created favourable conditions for Japanese and Da Nang businesses, investors and residents to enhance their exchange and cooperative activities.
The city leader also asked for help from Deputy Minister Nam to appeal for even more Japanese organisations and businesses to invest in such aspects in which the two sides show off their strengths and keen interests.
In reply, Deputy Minister Nam expressed his delight at the fruitful results from the bilateral cooperative programmes between Da Nang and some Japanese localities.
He believed Da Nang would attract even more Japanese businesses to invest in various aspects, including education, IT, and hi-tech, in the coming time thanks to its open and transparent incentive policies for foreign investors.
Mr Nam also affirmed that with the role of a Vietnamese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan, he would do his utmost to further deepen cooperative relationships between Da Nang and Japanese localities.
