The purpose of the visit by the British guests was to learn about such maters as the organisational structure of the local political system, the city’s incentive policies for foreign investors, and the vital role of the municipal government to investment attraction.

Chairman Tho remarked over the past years Da Nang has paid special attention to training high-quality human resources, and promoting the development of tourism and trade sectors. Also, focus has been on attracting even more domestic and foreign investment into hi-tech, information technology and urban infrastructure aspects, and building Da Nang into an environmentally-friendly city.

The city leader underlined his city has to date attracted 12 British-invested projects, totalling 1.14 million USD. In addition, the city has welcomed a large number of businesses from the UK to learn about its investment climate.

Notably, since its official operation in 2014, the city-based Viet Nam-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK) has operated effectively. In particular, many local government employees have been sent to the UK for study.

The host also asked the British guests to spend their time learning about the city’s priority aspects in a bid to enhance the trade and tourism promotion activities between the 2 sides.

In rely, Mr Wayne David highlighted the cooperative potential between Da Nang and UK businesses. He hoped that the visit would help the members of the British Parliament have a general view of the development of Da Nang to create new opportunties to promote bilateral cooperation in the future.
