Brunei naval ship arrives in city

On Tuesday morning, a royal Brunei naval ship, KDB Daruttaqwa, docked at Da Nang’s Tien Sa Port, beginning a 3-day visit to the city. The ship carries a total of 76 naval officers and sailors, headed by Lt Col Mohammad Azrin Bin Haji Mahmud.

The Bruneian guests were warmly welcomed by representatives from the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs, the High Command of Da Nang’s Naval Zone 3, the Department of Foreign Relations under the Ministry of Defence, the Da Nang Border Guard High Command, and the city's Military Command.

Also in attendance at the welcoming ceremony was Lt Col Omar Shariff Bin Haji Hidop, Defence Attaché of the Embassy of Brunei in Viet Nam.

During their 3-day stay in the city, the ship’s crew members will visit the Vietnamese naval vessel, and pay courtesy visits to the city’s leaders and commanders of some the city-based military units.

In addition, the Bruneian naval officers and men will exchange experience and play a friendly football match with their colleagues from the Zone 3 Naval High Command.

The purpose of the ship’s visit is to boost bilateral friendship and cooperation ties with Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.
