City leader warmly receives Bruneian naval officer

On Tuesday afternoon, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh warmly received Lt Col Mohammad Azrin Bin Haji Mahmud, commander of the royal Brunei naval ship KDB Daruttaqwa which docked at the city’s Tien Sa Port in the morning of the same day.

During his meeting with Bruneian guest, Vice Chairman Minh briefed him on his city’s socio-economic achivements, and its future development strategies. Mr Minh highly applauded the visit by the Bruneian naval ship in enhancing the mutual understanding, and exchanging experience in ensuring maritime safety and security, and search and rescue work at sea, between the naval forces of the two countries.

In reply, Lt Col Mahmud said that he was very impressed by the city’s rapid economic growth. He added during their 3-day stay in the city, the ship’s crew members would take part in some cultural and sports exchange activities with their colleagues from the Zone 3 Naval High Command.

“Our ship’s visit will help foster bilateral friendship and cooperation ties between the naval forces of the two countries, contributing to maintaining peace and stability in the region”, he emphasised.
