Enhancing bilateral tourism and trade cooperation with Johannesburg
As part of their ongoing working trips to South Africa to promote tourism and investment there, a delegation of Da Nang's leaders, led by municipal Permanent Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri, recently had a working session with representatives from the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI).

During his meeting with JCCI representatives, Deputy Secretary Tri introduced them to his city’s socio-economic achievements, its potential for the development of trade and tourism sectors, and its investment opportunities.
He affirmed that Da Nang and Johannesburg shared many similarities in their plans for becoming economic, financial and commercial hubs in their regions, as well as in investment potential in such aspects as information technology, industry, and logistics.
He remarked that Da Nang is rolling out the red carpet for delegations of JCCI, the South African Ministry of Industry and Trade, and businesspeople, to visit and seek investment and cooperative opportunities here.
Also at the working session, a representative from the Da Nang Department of Tourism introduced South African partners to detailed information about the city’s tourism products and its infrastructure, especially local air route network connecting the seaside city with some famous destinations in Southeast Asia.
In addition, he asked for help from JCCI to advertise Da Nang’s tourism information to its members, and facilitate Johannesburg businesses to conduct surveys of tourism products in the Vietnamese locality in the coming time.
In reply, JCCI President Herman Breedt noted his agency and its members have shown their keen interest in the Da Nang aspects of raw materials exploitation, information technology, renewable energy and tourism, especially its ability to successfully organise international events in the city
“With nearly 4,500 members, including 400 who are working in tourism industry, JCCI will have a chance to become a potential partner of the Vietnamese city. JCCI is willing to help Da Nang seek its partners and organise workshops in the city or South African localities to promote the bilateral trade, investment and tourism cooperation”, Mr Breedt added.
