On Thursday, the new Lao Consul General in Da Nang, Mr Viengxay Phommachanh, paid a courtesy visit to leaders of the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs.

Mr Lam Quang Minh, Director of the Department, congratulated his guest on his new position. He also expressed his delight at the fruitful results from the bilateral cooperation with Laotian localities over recent years.

The host said he would like the Lao diplomat to make every effort during his tenure to lift the bilateral relationships with Da Nang to new heights in the near future.

In reply, Mr Viengxay Phommachanh expressed his great pleasure to work in Da Nang. He vowed to do his utmost during his tenure to foster bilateral cooperation with Da Nang in such aspects as education, healthcare, and agriculture.

The Lao guest also asked for help from the municipal authorities, plus local government departments and agencies, to facilitate him and his consular staff to fulfill their tasks, contributing to deepen the long-lasting the friendship between Laos and Viet Nam.
