Legislators cast confidence votes
The 14th National Assembly conducted a vote of confidence on 48 officials holding positions elected and approved by the legislature during its 6th session in Ha Noi on 25 October.

According to results announced the same day, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh earned “high confidence” rating in 66.5% of votes and “confidence” by 30.1% of votes.
The rate of “high confidence” for National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan was 90.1 % of votes and that for “confidence” - 7.01%.
Meanwhile, 81.03% of deputies gave Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc high confidence votes and 14.2% cast their confidence votes on him.
Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha scored the lowest confidence, with 28.87% of high confidence votes, 40% of confidence votes and 28.85% of low confidence votes.
The NA passed a Resolution on the outcomes of confidence votes with 95.67% of approval.
Also on 25 October, after hearing Chairwoman of the NA’s Committee for Judicial Affairs Le Thi Nga presented a report on the verification and amendment of the draft revised Anti-Corruption Law, the deputies debated contentious contents of the bill.
They also mulled over the draft Law on Protection of State Secretes.
On 26 October, the legislators are scheduled to look into the implementation of the NA’s resolution on the socio-economic development plan in 2018, mid-term assessment of the realisation of 2016 - 2018 plans on socio-economic development and economic restructuring, the socio-economic development plan in 2019 and the three-year implementation of policies in support of socio-economic development in ethnic minority-inhabited and mountainous areas.
They will also discuss Resolution No 100/2015/QH13 on investment in national target programmes for the 2016 - 2020 period.
