City welcomes Japanese investment
Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh on Thursday held a reception for a group from the Japanese-Vietnamese Friendship Association of Kakegawa in Japan’s Shizuoka Prefecture, led by its Chairman Mr Toudou Yoichi.

During his meeting with foreign guests, Vice Chairman remarked that Da Nang is now home to 143 Japanese businesses, branches and representative offices, with a total registered charter capital of 530 million US$. These involves in such aspects as manufacturing, processing, IT , science and technology, and hospitality services.
“Noticeably, non-stop flight routes between Da Nang and Narita have been operating efficiently, hereby creating favourable conditions for ensuring closer links between the people of the 2 countries, especially their businesses”, Mr Minh added.
Vice Chairman Minh also asked for help from Mr Toudou Yoichi and other members of the Association to give active support for Japanese businesses to seek investment opportunities in Da Nang in the aspects of production and processing, especially to pour their money into the city’s Hi-Tech Park.
“Especially, with their strengths in green tea production and processing as well as the tea ceremonies in Japan, tea manufacturers from Kakegawa City can introduce their products at the annual Viet Nam-Japan Cultural Exchange Festival or at trade fairs in Da Nang in the coming time, hereby helping to promote bilateral cultural exchanges and tourism cooperation between the two localities” Mr Minh noted.
In reply, Mr Toudou Yoichi expressed his believe that, the years ahead, the Shinzuoka and Da Nang governments would focus on promoting the opening of the Da Nang-Shinzuoka non-stop route, strengthening bilateral cooperation in human resources exchanges and tourism development, and especially setting up a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with Kakegawa City, and Shizuoka Prefecture as a whole.
The Japanese guest affirmed, in the coming time, the Association will appeal for even more investors from Shinzuoka Prefecture, andJapan as a whole, to invest in Da Nang.
In another his meeting on the same day with a delegation from Japan’s Bugin Economic Research Institute Ltd , led by Senior Managing Director Tsuchida Hiroshi, Vice Chairman Minh affirmed his city’s stance in attracting FDI inflows into IT, hi-tech, services, tourism and other aspects.

The host asked for help from the Japan agency to actively appeal for more Japanese businesses to invest in some aspects in which the 2 sides show the same interest. Included were IT, hi-tech industry, and environmentally-friendly production and processing.
The Japanese guest hoped that, through this Da Nang visit, the visiting delegation will have an opportunity to gain a deeper insight into the city's investment environment, and promote investment cooperation between the Institute’s members and Da Nang in the coming years.
