Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh on Tuesday warmly received President of Miyashita Seisakusho Co Ltd Miyashita Masaaki and a group from the Nagano Prefecture Industry and Commerce Association, from Japan.

The host applauded the role of Japanese businesses in fostering bilateral cooperation between his city and many Japanese cities, and between the 2 countries as a whole.

Vice Chairman Minh re-affirmed Da Nang’s firm stance in creating the best possible business environment for investors from both home and abroad. Mr Minh also took the opportunity to invite his Japanese guests to explore investment opportunities in Da Nang. In addition, he asked for help from his guests to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the 2 localities.

In reply, Mr Miyashita Masaaki said, more than 2,000 Vietnamese nationals now live and work in Nagano Prefecture. He added Da Nang shows off abundant and increasingly skilled workforce, while Japan is experiencing the rapid aging society and a severe shortage of human resources. Therefore, the Japanese guests hoped that human resources from Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, in the coming time, will seek more employment in Nagano Prefecture. Also, they showed a keen interest in exploring long-term investment opportunities in Da Nang.

As of August 2018, Japan ranked 1^st first in the number of projects, and 2^nd in terms of investment capital with a total of more than 650 million US$, in Da Nang. The city has already established cooperative ties with many Japanese localities.
