Mayor of Namyangju City visits the city
During his Thursday reception for Mr Kwang-Han, the Mayor of Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh congratulated him on his new position elected at the 7th local elections which were held in his country in June.
Vice Chairman Minh expressed his belief that, in the coming time, the 2 cities would deploy many practical and specific cooperation programmes, hereby fostering the bilateral ties to grow in a more sustainable and in-depth manner.
In reply, Mayor Cho Kwang-Han underlined the significance of implementing bilateral cooperation programmes, with a focusing on certain aspects in which they boasts development potential and strengths.
Currently, 15 businesses operating in Da Nang have been maintaining their trade relationships with this East Asian nation.
In the first half of this year alone, Da Nang’s exports to South Korea was estimated at 17 million US$, up 14.5% against the same period last year, whilst the city’s total imports from this East Asian country climbed by 10.6% to hit 36.5 million US$.
To date, Da Nang has been home to about 144 South Korean-invested projects totalling more than 600 million US$.
Up to now, Da Nang has established bilateral relations with 5 South Korean localities, namely Daegu, Changwon, Hawaseong, Seoul, and Gyeongsan.
