9th session of municipal People's Council in its 9th tenure runs until 19 Dec

The 9th session of the Da Nang People’s Council in its 9th tenure for the 2016 - 2021 term opened at the meeting hall of the People’s Council at 42 Bach Dang Street on Monday morning.

The session, which will run until Wednesday, 19 December, is being broadcast live on Da Nang Radio and Television (DRT) channels.

Present at the opening ceremony were Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, municipal Party Committee Secretary cum Head of the municipal NA Members’ Group, Mr Truong Quang Nghia, municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho, municipal Fatherland Front Committee Chairwoman Dang Thi Kim Lien, municipal People’s Council members, and other invited guests.

In the spotlight at the 3-day session are the review of the city’s socio-economic performance and its security and defence during this year, the adoption of resolutions on important issues by Council members, and the identification of next year’s key tasks.

Besides, the event also features discussions about effective measures to promote  ‘2019: The Year of Investment Promotion’ landmark programme, as well as to ensure welfare and security.

It is noticeable that there will be a mid-term vote of confidence on officials holding positions elected by the municipal People’s Council members.
