On Wednesday, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Van Mien held a reception for the Italian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr Dante Brandi.

Vice Chairman Mien remarked over recent years bilateral relations between Da Nang and some Italian localities have been strengthened, but have yet to fully tap their great potential and strengths.

“Da Nang has, to date, attracted only 6 projects from Italy, and only textiles and garments products from the city have been exported to the country”, he added.

The host said the municipal authorities are always willing to roll out the red carpet for Italian investors to their locality, and they are always ready to give a helping hand to the Italian government to open a consulate office in the locality.

In reply, the Italian diplomat hoped that Italian language would be soon introduced in the University of Da Nang, especially in business and tourism majors.

He also announced that training courses on Italian language for Da Nang students would be reopened next summer.
