City receives second-class Labour Medal for ensuring APEC 2017 summit week's success
At a recent ceremony in Ha Noi to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Viet Nam’s membership in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum, on behalf of the authorities and citizens of Da Nang, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh received a second-class Labour Medal from the State President.

The award was in recognition for Da Nang’s significant achievements in ensuring the good preparations for the comprehensive success of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 (AELW), which took place in the city between 6 and 11 November.
Viet Nam's year-long hosting of APEC meetings whose culmination event was AELW in Da Nang really proved great success, leaving a good impression on the participating delegates from the 21 APEC economies.
With the thorough preparation lasting for 3 years and the high spirit of solidarity in together overcoming difficulties and dealing with the aftermath of an expected typhoon in a prompt fashion, Da Nang played an important role in securing the great success of this large-scale international event.
It was reported that, at the honouring ceremony, a total of 1 First- class, 5 Second-class and 19 Third-class Labour Medals were presented to 7 units and 18 individuals nationwide for their excellent achievements in ensuring good preparations for the comprehensive success of the APEC 2017 events.
