The stele has been built at a cost of around 200 million VND which came from the city budget, and donations from local individuals and organisations.
In his remarks at the event, Secretary of the Cam Le District Party Committee Le Quang Nam expressed his high respect for the spirit of resilience and bravery, and fabulous victory of the Battalion No 2 in the August battle. Regular visits, talks about the national history and traditions, incense offering rituals will take place at this site.
The construction of the stele aims to express the younger generations’ deep gratitude to the heroic commandos who had laid down their lives for the protection of the nation. In addition, it helps to educate young people about patriotism and the national tradition of ‘when drinking water, remember its source’, as well as inspire them to study harder to gain even more achievements, to make greater efforts for the nation’s progress.
