NA Vice Chairwoman congratulates local air force on their special day

On Tuesday, Politburo member and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Tong Thi Phong visited and presented gifts to the Da Nang-based Air Force Division 372 in recognition of the upcoming 74th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam People’s Army (22 December). She was accompanied by Mr Truong Quang Nghia, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee cum Head of the local NA deputies.

During his meeting with Vice Chairwoman Phong, Col Pham Nhu Xuan, commander of the Air Force Division 372 briefed her on the history of the establishment, the tasks and the development of his Division over the past years.

“The division now has 3 regiments and 3 battalions which are on duty protecting the city’s air, sea and land sovereignty from 13th to 18th parallels”, he added.

For her part, Mrs Phong extended warm greetings from leaders of the Party and State, and best wishes from Chairwoman of the national NA Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, to the Division’s officers and men on the occasion of the 74th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam People’s Army.

Also, she spoke highly the Division for their great contribution during the past two resistance wars, as well as their good cooperation with the municipal government.

The NA Vice Chairwoman took the opportunity to ask the Division’s officers and men to continue upholding their heroic tradition, fulfilling their assigned tasks, maintaining combat readiness and strictly obeying military discipline in a bid to build a modern and elite air force.

Also at the visit, Secretary Nghia highlighted the Division’s great devotion to his city. In particular, the Division has coordinated well with the Ministry of Transport to expand the Da Nang International Airport.

On this occasion, a troupe of pupils representing 12 ethnic groups in Son La Province performed delightful performances of singing and dancing to celebrate 74th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam People’s Army.
