NA Vice Chairwoman visits Zone 3 Naval High Command

On Wednesday, National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong visited and presented gifts to the Zone 3 Naval High Command in recognition of the upcoming 74th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam People’s Army (22 December). She was accompanied by Mr Truong Quang Nghia, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee cum Head of the local NA deputies.

Rear Admiral Do Quoc Viet from the Zone 3 Naval High Command briefed NA Vice Chairwoman Phong on the specific missions and outstanding achievements made by his agency over the past years.

Noticeably, the unit has successfully conducted marine and fishery surveillance patrols and inspections, as well as performed well in natural disaster mitigation, search and rescue and firefighting activities.

In addition, the naval force has fulfilled assigned tasks in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty over its sea and islands.

For her part, Mrs Phong extended warm greetings from leaders of the Party and State, and best wishes from Chairwoman of the national NA Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan to the Zone 3 Naval High Command officers and men on the occasion of the 74th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam People’s Army.

The NA Vice Chairwoman took the opportunity to urge the officers and men to continue upholding the spirit of great solidarity and determination, fulfilling their assigned tasks and protecting the country’s sovereignty over its sea and islands.

Also at the visit, Secretary Nghia highlighted the naval agency’s great devotion to his city’s progress over recent years.

The city Party chief also vowed that the most favourable conditions would be created for the agency to fulfil its comprehensive military and defence tasks in all aspects of life, maintain combat readiness and firmly protect the country.

On this occasion, a troupe of pupils representing 12 ethnic groups in the northern province of Son La performed delightful performances of singing and dancing to celebrate 74th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam People’s Army.
