During his reception for the Thai guests, Secretary Nghia revealed that his city is planning to establish the friendship and cooperation with the Thai provinces of Khon Kaen and Phuket.
The soon-to-be-established bilateral relationships, greatly supported by the Vietnamese government, are expected to bring about practically fruitful results, hereby contributing to accelerating the ties between the 2 countries in a more sustainable and in-depth manner in the coming time.
The city Party chief asked for Mr Surachai Liengboonlertchai’s help to voice his strong support so as for the bilateral relationships with the above-mentioned Thai localities to be established as soon as possible.
Currently, Da Nang is being actively engaged in building the East-West Economic Corridor No 2 (EWEC2), which runs through Quang Nam Province-located Dak Oc border gate, Sekong Province’s Dak Chung District, Pakse Town in Laos’ Champasak Province, and Thailand’s Ubon Ratchathani.
The opening of the large-scale route project is aimed at facilitating transportation activities, hereby significantly helping to boost economic and cultural development of the 3 countries.
The city Party chief also said that his city needs a helping hand from Mr Surachai Liengboonlertchai in promoting the opening of the EWEC2, and appealing for even more investors to Da Nang in the years ahead.
The Thai high-ranking official highlighted the great significance of the highly-practical EWEC2 in shortening the geographical distance between Viet Nam and Thailand, and promoting their bilateral cooperation.
In particular, he pledged to ask the Thai government to create the most possible favourable conditions for bilateral entry services and exchanges between the 2 countries.
The visiting guest also expressed his delight at increasing numbers of residents in Da Nang and Viet Nam at large, showing their keen interest in learning the Thai language. He added, every year, a large number of Thai volunteers come to this central city to teach their mother tongue at the University of Da Nang.
