City strives to fulfil this year's key tasks
At Wednesday meeting hosted by Da Nang People’s Committee to review the city’s performance in 2018 and set its 2019 tasks, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung presented the city leaders-approved solutions to implement the city’s socio-economic development plans and the State budget estimates for this year.

Accordingly, relevant local bodies will be in charge of continuing to promote investment attraction during this year, with a focus on developing new preferential mechanisms and policies in a bid to attract even more domestic and foreign investment, especially large economic groups, multinational corporations and strategic investors into local spearhead economic sectors.
With regard to specific economic development tasks, importance will be attached to implementing the Da Nang Tourism Development Project by 2025, developing key projects in tourism industry and highly advantageous services, and promoting the application of modern and high value-added technologies such as finance - banking, transport - warehousing - port services, education and training, high quality healthcare.
As for local planning management, reasonable adjustments will be made to the city’s master urban plan for its progress by 2030, with a vision towards 2045, with the aim of building Da Nang into a green, modern-smart, global city with unique identity.
In his remarks at the meeting, Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Ngo Quang Vinh proposed that the municipal administration release a specific policy to expand the city’s tourism markets, develop waterway tourism, and approve the planning of the landscapes along the Han River.
Also, the development of the Lang Van tourism area in Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Hiep Bac Ward and the dredging of the Co Co River link Da Nang with Hoi An should be taken into consideration.
According to announcements at the meeting by Director of the municipal Construction Department Vu Quang Hung, work is scheduled to start on a 330m- long footpath, covering an area of 12,782 m² between the Furama Resort Danang and the Ariyana Danang Tourism Complex in Khue My Ward on April, and it is expected to be completed 4 months later.
Meanwhile, another beach walkway project for public use at the end of Ho Xuan Huong Street, covering an area of 6,680m² and measuring 445m in length and 15 in width is likely to be completed before 30 January.
As for the Ocean Son Tra Park project, concerned local bodies will be responsible for inviting competent, reputable and highly experienced consultants to give opinions regarding environmental impact assessments of this large-scale project in line with the current national regulations, not causing negative impacts on the environment, ecosystems and coastal areas.
Delivering his instructions, municipal Party Committee Secretary Truong Quang Nghia asked the municipal government to accelerating the progress of key coastal projects, especially the creation of walkway allowing public access to beaches.
In particular, the city Party chief underlined the significance of deploying projects on the basis of protecting the environment, maintaining the cultural values, and satisfying social requirements.
