More pre-Tet visits

On Tuesday, a delegation of catholic dignitaries from the Diocese of Da Nang, the city branch of the Viet Nam Christian Mission, and the city-based Evangelical Church of Viet Nam paid a pre-Tet visit to Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Vo Cong Tri.

The guests thanked the city leaders for facilitating local catholic dignitaries and followers to ensure a good secular and religious life. They also wished the local authorities a health, peaceful and happy Tet, and pledged that they would continue with their efforts to promote the city’s progress in the year ahead.

On behalf of the city leaders, Deputy Secretary Tri wished local catholic dignitaries and followers a happy and peaceful Lunar New Year.

He also highlighted the important role of the catholic dignitaries and followers in upholding national unity for the sake of the city’s progress.  He hoped that they would continue to join forces with all residents to further the city’s development and build Da Nang into a more peaceful, civilised and modern city.

On the same day, Deputy Secretary Tri, along with representatives from local government departments and agencies, visited the Institute of Politics Zone 3, the Department of Medical Examinations for Government Employees of the Da Nang General Hospital, the Rada Station No 29 under the management of the city-based Air Defense Division 375, and some local social policy families.

The city leader highly appreciated the institute for offering training courses on politics to officials and employees from the city and elsewhere in the central region and Highlands.

Meanwhile, Mr Tri spoke highly the great efforts made by the station’s soldiers in fulfilling their assigned tasks well. He also urged the unit to exert even more efforts to overcome their difficulties to fulfill their assigned tasks in protecting the national air sovereignty.

During his visit to the Department of Medical Examinations for Government Employees, Deputy Secretary Tri asked the Department’s doctors, nurses and medical workers to continue upholding their sense of responsibility in medical checks and treatment activities for government employees.

When visiting the families of people's armed force hero Tran Ngoc Anh and war invalid Tran Cong Tien both in Son Tra District’s An Hai Bac Ward, Mr Tri expressed his deep gratitude to these families for their devotion to the reunion of the country.

He also wished them good health, and hoped that they would continue to uphold their traditional patriotism, and encourage their descendants to make even greater efforts for the city’s progress.

Also on Tuesday morning, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho warmly received Bishop of the Diocese of Da Nang Giuse Dang Duc Ngan.

Chairman Tho expressed appreciation for Bishop Ngan’s joining efforts with the city’s leaders and people to effectively implement patriotic emulation movements.

He also hoped that Bishop Ngan would do his utmost to fulfil his duties well, and encourage Catholic followers to ensure a ‘good secular and religious life’, and to bolster the city’s progress, and that of the country as a whole.

In the morning of 29 January, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh paid a pre-Tet visit to single elderly people living at the city’s care centre for those who gave great service in the national revolution.

Mr Chinh wished them all good health, and a happy and warm Tet.
