In his remarks at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh highly praised the participants for their great efforts for the city’s progress.
“In 2018 alone, OV sent a total of 165 million USD in remittances to Da Nang, a rise of nearly 30% against 2017. Many of them gave active support to the needy in the city and helped to bring a large number of investors to the city”, Mr Minh added.
Vice Chairman Minh also said that his city needs a helping hand from OV to promote its socio-economic development, especially in its science-technology, healthcare, and education, as well as introduce foreign investors to cooperation and investment opportunities in the city.
He also pledged that the local authorities would always provide all possible conditions for Vietnamese ex-pats to visit their families and do business in their hometowns effectively.
Moreover, Mr Minh asked local relevant agencies to simplify administrative procedures for OV to make it easier for inviting them to work in the city.
Also at the meeting, municipal Fatherland Front Committee Chairwoman Dang Thi Kim Lien presented a Certificate of Merit to Mr Pham Ba Dung, an OV living in Germany, in recognition of his active involvement in advertising the city’s images through the organisation of annual Da Nang International Marathons in the locality.
