Tet gifts given to the needy in mountainous areas

A group of representatives from the Da Nang authorities, led by municipal Fatherland Front Committee Chairwoman Dang Thi Kim Lien, on Tuesday, visited and extended Tet greetings to some families in the Hoa Bac, Hoa Phu and Hoa Ninh communes in Hoa Vang District.

The delegation donated a total of 380 gifts, worth 650,000 VND each, to the Co Tu and Hoa ethnic minority households.

Likewise, 82 gifts, worth 500,000 VND each, were presented poor teachers and military medical workers, and Kinh families in the Ta Lang and Giac Bi villages in Hoa Bac Commune, and the Phu Tuc village in Hoa Phu Commune.

On the same day, representatives from the Hoa Vang District authorities visited and gave 252 gifts, with each valued at 500,000 VND, to the needy in the Ta Lang and Gian Bi villages.

Currently, 520 Tet packages, with each containing cash and gifts, from the municipal Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims are going to AO victims across the city, and the disadvantaged who are being care for at the city’s Care Centre for AO Victims and Disadvantaged Children.

In a similar vein, a total of 7 social policy families in Hai Chau District’s Hoa Cuong Bac Ward received 1.4 million VND in cash each from the ward budget, whilst 300 Tet gifts were given to the poor.

To mark this occasion, Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, Deputy Minister of Defense awarded gifts, each worth 10 million VND, to a total of 10 social policy and poor families across the ward.

The Lien Chieu District Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection and the Phat Tam Duc Charity Association jointly donated Tet gifts, each worth between 400,000 VND and 500,000 VND, to 400 poor families which have little children, visually impaired members and pitiful circumstances across the district.

Presents, worth 300,000 VND - 500,000 VND each, funded by the general public through the Cam Le Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection, were given to impoverished households having little children.

The Huong Lam Club has given free-of-charge coach and train tickets, worth 300,000 VND each, for a total of 100 needy students and workers to be back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet with their families. Besides, Tet gifts went to single elderly people in Dai Lanh Commune, Dai Loc District, Quang Nam Province.
