He added the city has focused on fostering the development of the local tourism, information technology (IT), hi-tech, education and healthcare industries. Notably, appeals for domestic and foreign investment have been made into the Hi-tech Park.

Vice Chairman Minh would like the Austrian diplomat to do his utmost to promote the establishment of bilateral cooperative relations between Da Nang and some Austrian localities, including Graz, as soon as possible.

The host also took the opportunity to ask his guest to appeal for even more investors from his country to visit and seek investment opportunities in Da Nang in such aspects as tourism, hi-tech and IT in the coming time.

As for human resource development, Mr Minh hoped the Austrian ambassador would suggest the Austrian government to grant more scholarships to Da Nang students in order to facilitate them to study and work in this European country.

Mr Gotzburg, for his part, highlighted the great bilateral cooperation potential between Da Nang and some Austrian localities, especially in the aspects of hi-tech, IT and tourism. He added there were numerous large IT and hi-tech enterprises operating in his country.

He, therefore, promised to encourage more Austrian businesses to invest into Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, and urge the Graz government to speed up the establishment of cooperative relationships with Da Nang soon.

The Republic of Austria will set up its Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City in May. This will play a vital role in strengthening the effective implementation of investment cooperation programmes and boosting the bilateral cooperative relations between Austrian and Vietnamese localities, including Da Nang, in the coming time.
