On Thursday, two high-speed patrol boats SPA 4207 for the Viet Nam Border Guards High Command were officially launched.

Designed by the Dutch Damen Shipyards Group, the international- standard launched ships have been built by the Song Thu Shipyard Corporation under the management of the General Department of Defense Industry.

Each of the boats is 42.81m in length, 7.11m in width and 3.77m in height.  It can operate at a maximum speed of 25.5 nautical miles per hour.

The two newly-built ships will help the Viet Nam Coast Guard force conduct their missions, including their search and rescue activities, with maximum efficiency in order to ensure maritime security.

Last year, the first 2 out of the 4 high-speed patrol boats SPA 4207 were handed over to the Viet Nam Border Guards High Command.
