During his Tuesday reception for Mayor of Pittsburgh City in the U.S. William Mark Peduto, Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho affirmed his city is targeting to become an environmentally friendly city by 2020, and a worth-living and sustainable locality in the near future.

During the ongoing 2015 – 2020 period, Da Nang is focusing on implementing 3 breakthrough tasks, namely promoting the development of the services, building a cultural and urban civilised lifestyle, and developing high-quality human resource.

In particular, the priority is now given to promoting the progress of hi-tech, IT and high quality human resource training.

Encouragingly, Da Nang and Pittsburgh share some similarities in development orientations. Chairman Tho said his city needs a helping hand from Mayor Peduto to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the 2 cities for the mutual interests.

Also, on behalf of the Da Nang leaders and residents, the host sincerely thanked for Pittsburgh for its humanitarian, charitable, and people-to-people diplomacy activities given to the Vietnamese city.

In reply, Mayor Peduto underlined a need for the 2 cities which officially entered into the twinning relationship in 2009 to foster their friendly ties in all aspects.

The guest also pledged that his active help will be given to Da Nang to appeal for even more investors from Pittsburgh, and U.S. as a whole, to seek potemtial cooperation and investment opportunities in the city in the coming time.
