City signs agreement on port development with the Netherlands

On Wednesday, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung held a reception for a group of visitors from the Dutch government, led by Ms Cora van Nieuwenhuizen, the Dutch Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management.

During her meeting with Vice Chairman Dung, Ms Cora van Nieuwenhuizen expressed her delight at fruitful results from the bilateral cooperation with Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, over recent years.

She affirmed her group was willing to help the city to realise its target of becoming a smarter city and a port urban in the future.

Also at the reception, representatives from the Da Nang- Netherlands Major Port Group (DNMC) and the municipal Department of Construction signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) on port urban development.

Under the LoI, DNMC will become actively involved in proposing ideas and plans on implementing projects to develop an airport and smarter city, and to build the Lien Chieu Port and the Hi-tech Park.

In addition, DNMC will join forces with the Department to conduct research, as well as to suggest planning ideas and development plans for the above-mentioned projects.
