Deputy Secretary Tri encouraged the centre’s children to study well and become useful citizens in the society. He also spoke highly the centre’s staff members for their dedication and great efforts in caring for the children there.

Established in 1993, the Village of Hope is under the management of the municipal Association for Supporting Poor and Disadvantaged Women and Children.

Currently, the Village is bringing up 125 children aged between 6 and 18, including 44 deaf ones, from Da Nang and Quang Nam Province.

Apart from academic courses, the centre has organised training courses on sewing, embroidery, drawing, cooking and computing in order to help children get suitable jobs in the future.

During his meeting on the same day with child patients at the city’s Cancer Hospital, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh wished them quickly recover their health.

He also asked the hospital’s doctors and nurses to continue upholding their sense of responsibility to create the best conditions for patients.

Mr Chinh also expressed his delight at the hospital’s remarkable achievements over recent years. He also highly praised the hospital’s medical workers for their great efforts in applying advanced medical technologies for treating their patients.

The Cancer Hospital now has a total of 28 wards and patient rooms offering 900 hospital beds. It is focusing on implementing many cooperative programmes with domestic and foreign hospitals in a bid to train professional doctors.
