According to a spokesperson for the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs, recent years have seen  fruitful results from cooperative programmes between Da Nang and such Russian localities as Yaroslavl, Nhizegorod and Briansk.

Specifically, Da Nang has developed many attractive tourism products in order to increase the number of Russian tourist arrivals. As a result, the city hosted 5,941 Russian tourists in 2018 alone, a rise of 49.7% against 2017.

In addition, 4 students from the municipal University of Foreign Language Studies are granted one-year scholarships at the Pushkin Institute every year.

However, the total imports/exports between Da Nang and Russia was still lower than expected.

For his part, Vice Chairman Minh remarked Da Nang has great potential for promoting the development of economy, investment, and construction sectors.

He also asked for a helping hand from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Assembly's Committee for External Relations to introduce his city’s advantages and potential to foreign investors, thereby appealing for even more FDI inflows into the city in the coming time.

In reply, Vice Chairman Ha stressed the need for the city to conduct even more investment promotion activities in foreign localities in a bid to appeal for more foreign investors to pour their money into the city, including those from Russia.
