Talk show on boosting economic and trade cooperation with Shandong Province

On Wednesday, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh chaired a talk show in the city on boosting the economic and trade cooperation with China’s Shandong Province.

The event was within the frame work of the visit to Da Nang made by a group of visitors from the Chinese province and businesspeople from 25 Chinese  firms. The delegation was led by Mr Wang Liang, Vice Chairman of the Shandong People’s Council.

In his remarks at the event, Vice Chairman Minh highlighted the significance of the talk show in facilitating investors from Shandong Province to learn about the city’s investment climate, as well as opening up the chance for Da Nang to seek cooperation with Chinese businesses.

“The event is also a good opportunity for my city to provide necessary information for Chinese guests, thereby developing incentive policies to foster the economic and trade cooperation between the two localities in the coming time” Mr Minh emphasised.

During the talk show, the two sides introduced the participants to their strengths and their investment environment.

In addition, they together discussed about human resources and some issues which Da Nang and Chinese businesses show their keen interest.

Currently, Da Nang is now home to 56 Chinese-invested projects. Amongst, 26 projects totalling 8.3 million USD are from Greater China, 13 ones worth 21.6 million USD from Hong Kong, and 18 ones valued at 68.5 million USD from Taiwan. The majority of these projects are involved in manufacturing industry, restaurant, catering, consulting, construction and real estate.

Over recent years, Da Nang has been emerging as an attractive destination for Chinese visitors. In particular, the number of tourists from China ranked 2nd in the total number of international visitors to Da Nang in 2018 with a total of 763,331 visitors, accounting for 26.55% of the total, and representing a rise by 34.01% against 2017.
