Viet Nam People's Navy sailing ship concludes Indonesia visit
The Vietnamese ship coded HQ-286 named Le Quy Don the Viet Nam People’s Navy left Tanjung Priok port in Jakarta on May 4, wrapping up its four-day visit to the country.

While in Indonesia, naval officers and sailors aboard the ship led by Colonel Nguyen Duc Nam, Vice Director of the Viet Nam Naval Academy, visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia, the Viet Nam defense attaché office and Fleet 1 of the Indonesian Navy, met with the Deputy Governor of Jakarta and joined sports exchange activities with the Indonesian Navy.
During the visit to Fleet 1 of the Indonesian Navy, Colonel Nam said he was impressed by training results achieved by the unit.
At his reception for the Vietnamese delegation on May 2, Deputy Governor of Jakarta Sutanto Soehodho briefed the guest on organisational structure, as well as challenges posing Jakarta in urban development.
Jakarta and some major cities in Viet Nam share similarities, which enable the two sides to cooperate and share experience for mutual development, he said.
Colonel Nam expressed his belief that the visit will contribute to promoting effective exchanges and cooperation for development and stability of the two countries as well as their armies.
He said the visit by ship HQ-286 Le Quy Don had achieved the purpose and set plan in the training work and foreign affairs, as well as naval exchanges.
Colonel Nam appreciated the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia and the Viet Nam Defense Attaché Office in Indonesia for their coordination and help for the delegation during the visit.
