National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong presents gifts to the city's children on their special day
On Saturday, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Tong Thi Phong visited and presented gifts to children at the Da Nang Children's Cultural Palace on the occasion of the International Children’s Day (1 June).

She was accompanied by Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Nguyen Van Nen, along with Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Truong Quang Nghia, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Huynh Duc Tho.
Vice Chairwoman Phong highly appreciated relevant local agencies for their great efforts in caring and educating children comprehensively with both material and spiritual support.
She hoped that the city would continue its efforts to provide better care for local children and teenagers, thereby developing high quality human resources for the city, and the country as a whole, in the future.

“June is the National Action Month for Children. 2019 is the year when localities across the country join their efforts to take care of, educate, and protect the children. Focus will be on reducing the risk of child drowning and traffic accidents, and preventing such incidents”, Mrs Phong noted.
She took the opportunity to encourage local children study well, as well as become good grandchildren of Uncle Ho, and useful citizens in the society.
To mark the occasion, Mrs Phong planted a souvenir tree in the campus of the Children's Cultural Palace.
