Reinforcing bilateral ties with the Czech Republic

On Thursday, Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho warmly received Vice Chairman of the Czech Parliament’s Chamber of Deputies Vojtěch Filip.

Chairman Tho remarked Da Nang and the Czech Republic shared many similarities in their development strategies. The city leader, therefore, hoped the bilateral relations with the Czech Republic would be strengthened in such aspects as healthcare, education, and tourism in the coming time.

The host noted after their visit to the Czech Republic last year, the municipal leaders have been actively involved in implementing a project to build an international peadiatrics hospital in the city, as well as earmarking land at industrial parks to welcome Czech investors to the city.

Mr Tho took the opportunity to ask the Czech government to give his city a helping hand to train high-quality human resources for its healthcare and education sectors.

For his part, Vice Chairman Vojtěch Filip expressed his impression on the city’s rapid growth over recent years.

He revealed his country’s largest automobile manufacturer has been showing their interest in building an auto component manufacturing factory in Da Nang in the coming time.

The Czech guest also highly praised the municipal authorities for their determination to appeal for Czech investors to join forces with them to build an international peadiatrics hospital in Da Nang. He affirmed Czech businesses will work with the Da Nang leaders to ensure that the project would be implemented as scheduled.

Mr Vojtěch Filip said happily that the Czech Republic has resumed issuing long-term visas for Vietnamese workers, especially Vietnamese students, after suspending it for almost one year.

He also asked the Da Nang leaders to facilitate to open non-stop flights between Da Nang and Praha, the capital city of the Czech Republic, in the time ahead in a bid to enhance the bilateral cooperation between the two localities.
