On Friday morning, a delegation from Da Nang, led by municipal Party Committee (PaC) Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri, offered incense and laid a wreath at the National Funeral Home at 5 Tran Thanh Tong in Ha Noi to pay tribute to the late Prof. Hoang Tuy, a mathematician credited for being the birth father of global optimisation. Mr Tuy passed away on 14 July at the age of 92 after a long time struggling with diseases.

The Da Nang delegation included Head of the PaC’s Department of Publicity and Training Tran Dinh Hong, plus representatives from the municipal Fatherland Front Committee and PaC’s Office.

On behalf of the city's delegation, Deputy Secretary Tri wrote that the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang deeply mourned the passing of Prof. Hoang Tuy, an eminent son of Quang Nam-Da Nang, and a prominent mathematician who made great devotion to the national science and education sectors.
