Singapore businesspeople keen to invest in the city

On Friday morning, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh played host to a group of businesspeople from Singapore, led by Vice Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation, Mr Douglas Foo.

During his reception for Singaporean guests, Vice Chairman Minh remarked, currently, Singapore was Da Nang's largest foreign investor, with the total investment of 895 million USD.

He noted that his city has recently entered into cooperative agreements with Singaporean-based firms namely Sakae Corporate Advisory and Surbana Jurong to develop Da Nang’s socio-economic development strategies, as well as making adjustments to the master urban plan for the city’s progress by 2030, with a vision towards 2050.

The host revealed that Da Nang has been focusing on building transport infrastructure, and promoting the development of industries, information technology and logistics in a sustainable manner in recent years. Also, the city has been expanding its cooperation with many foreign partners, including those from Singapore.

In reply, Vice Chairman Doughas Foo said that the purpose of the visit made by Singaporean businesspeople was to seek investment opportunities in Da Nang, as well as to help city-based Singaporean firms expand their business activities, thereby contributing to fostering strategic partnership between Singapore and Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.

Singaporean businesspeople expressed their impression on numerous remarkable achievements Da Nang has gained over recent years.

They also highly appreciated Da Nang for its preferential policies towards sustainable development and many investment promotion programmes.

The guests said that they were willing to invest into the city in such aspects as infrastructure development, transportation, services and consumption.
