Over 41 million VND raised from 10th 'Cup of Compassion Coffee' programme

On Saturday morning, the 10th edition of ‘Ly Ca Phe Yeu Thuong’ (Cup of Compassion Coffee) monthly programme took place at the New Hawaii coffee shop, 15 Tran Quy Cap, Hai Chau District, Da Nang.

Jointly organised by the municipal Journalists’ Association and the city branch of the Viet Nam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT Da Nang), the event attracted the participation of many reporters and donors across in the city.

In attendance at the event were Vice Chairmen of the municipal People’s Committee Dang Viet Dung and Le Trung Chinh.

In his remarks at the event, Vice Chairman Dung highlighted the significance of the programme in helping many disadvantaged people, thereby improving journalists’ reputation.

Mr Dung took the opportunity to thank individuals and organisation citywide for their active involvement in the programme over the past months. Also, he hoped that the municipal Journalists’ Association would cooperate with many associations and organisations to organise even more meaningful programmes in the time ahead.

During Saturday morning, over 41 million VND was raised from generous donors for the programme to help those in need, including reporters in difficult circumstances. The collected money has brought the current fund of the programme to 605 million VND.
