National government official extends Christmas and New Year wishes to Catholic and Christian followers in the city

On Tuesday afternoon, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Board Truong Thi Mai visited the Diocese of Da Nang, and the city-based Viet Nam Christian Mission, in recognition of the upcoming Christmas and New Year season.

She was accompanied by Secretary of the municipal Party Committee (PaC) Truong Quang Nghia, along with representatives from Religious Board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the municipal PaC's Mass Mobilisation Department, and the municipal Fatherland Front Committee.

During her visit to the Diocese of Da Nang, Mrs Mai wished Bishop Dang Duc Ngan, and the Catholic dignitaries and followers across the city, a happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year.

She highly applauded Catholic followers, and religious communities as a whole for their great devotion for the city’s progress.

On behalf of the local Catholic community, Bishop Dang Duc Ngan affirmed that the Catholic community would continue efforts to actively get involved in patriotic emulation movements, and building Da Nang into a liveable and friendly city.

At the city-based Viet Nam Christian Mission, national government high-ranking official congratulated the Mission on its recent 4th congress, and Parson Nguyen Quang Duc on being re-elected to Head of the Mission during the 2019-2023 term.

For his part, Parson Duc vowed that, in the coming time, he would encourage Christian followers to ensure a ‘good secular and religious life’, and to bolster the progress of the city, and that of the country as a whole.
