A ceremony recently took place in Da Nang to honour 22 individuals and organisations introduced in the ‘I Love Da Nang’ category of the Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper.

Co-hosted by the newspaper and the Da Nang authorities, the ceremony was attended by municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho and Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh.

The honourees are those who have made great devotion to local community. Also, their stories have had positive effects on the whole community, helping to spread positive energy with others, and to promote the beautiful images of the city to both domestic and foreign visitors.

Included were Ms Pham Thi Thuy Loan, Vice Rector of the Hai Chau District-based Nguyen Hue Junior School, who has been providing her teenage pupils with free life skill classes, Mr Le Van Huong from the Beach Tourism Security Management Team who has found dropped property and return them to their owners for 5 times, young volunteers collecting trash on the Son Tra Peninsula, and a group of young people offering free-of-charge punctured and flat tyre repair services.

In his remarks at the event, Vice Chairman Chinh applauded the honourees for their great devotion to the local community. He also asked the city-based media agencies to widely advertise the dynamic, civilised and prosperous images of the city to domestic and international friends.

The ‘I love Da Nang’ category of the Tuoi Tre Newspaper features articles about shining examples of good deeds in Da Nang. Over the past 3 years, more than 100 individuals and groups citywide have been introduced in the category.
