During his reception on Thursday for a delegation of Japan’s Tochigi Prefecture led by its Governor Fukuda Tomikazu, Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho affirmed his city’s focus on promoting the progress of hi-tech, information technology, hi-tech agriculture, services, port infrastructure, and tourism.

The city has always attached great importance to boosting the cooperative ties with Tochigi Prefecture, which show off much strength in industries, education, and tourism.

Currently, the Japanese business community in Da Nang is growing strongly with nearly 130 projects worth over 800 million USD in total operating here, taking the lead in terms of the number of FDI projects and the total registered investment capital channeled into the city. The city administration has issued many priority policies for the sake of the effective operation of Japanese businesses.

In addition, heed has been paid to developing cooperative relations in education, health care, and culture with Japanese localities.

Based on such advantages motioned above, Chairman Tho asked for help from Governor Fukuda Tomiazu to enhance bilateral promotion activities and encourage more businesses from Tochigi to put the money in Da Nang in the coming time.

According to Governor Fukuda Tomiazu, about 9,900 Vietnamese people, including 5,700 students, now live in Tochigi Prefecture. To promote cooperation activities with Vietnamese localities, in June, Tochigi has established the Japan Businesses’ Friendship Association with 40 Japanese enterprises operating in the Southeast Asian country.

The Japanese guest hoped that Da Nang would create favourable conditions for businesses from Tochigi Prefecture to operate effectively here.
