Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary Nguyen Van Quang on Thursday played host to his counterpart, Mr Phoxay Xaynhasone from Savannakhet Province in Laos.

Deputy Secretary Quang highly lauded the visit made by the Lao visitor which helped to deepen the long-lasting traditional friendship and solidarity between the people of Laos and Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.

The host hoped that the two localities would continue their efforts to effectively implement cooperative programmes in the years ahead under the memorandum of understanding between the two localities signed for the 2018-2022 period.

In reply, Mr Phoxay Xaynhasone thanked the city leader for his warm welcome. He also expressed his delight at the fine development of the bilateral ties with Da Nang over recent years.

The Laotian guest wished the leaders and people of Da Nang a very happy and successful Lunar New Year. He hoped that Da Nang would gain even more success in the year ahead.
