The host congratulated the South Korean diplomat on his new position. He highlighted the significance of the establishment of the South Korean Consulate General in Da Nang in helping strengthen the bilateral cooperation between South Korea and Da Nang.
Chairman Tho vowed that the Da Nang authorities are always willing to create very favourable conditions for the South Korean Consulate General to operate effectively, and to facilitate their citizens to study, work and travel in the city.
The city leader expressed his concern about the current epidemic situation. He, therefore, asked the South Korean Consulate General in Da Nang to closely work with the municipal authorities to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) into the city to ensure the safety of locals and visitors.
He hoped that newly-accredited diplomat would do his utmost to encourage even more businesses from his country to pour money into Da Nang, and the central region as a whole, in such aspects as hi-tech, information technology, healthcare, banking, logistics and tourism.
In reply, Mr Ahn Min-sik expressed his hope that the Da Nang authorities would create the best favourable conditions in order for the South Korean Consulate General in Da Nang to complete the construction of its headquarters in the city as soon as possible.
The South Korean ambassador also said that he is willing to join Da Nang's fight against the coronavirus.
