'Heart for Heart' organisation helps the city in education, healthcare
Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh recently hosted Prof. Dr Erich Lejeune, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ‘Heart for Heart’ organisation.
During his reception for his guest, Vice Chairman Chinh highly praised Mr Erich Lejeune, and the German non-profit organisation as a whole, for their active support for Da Nang over recent years.
The host pledged that the city government would facilitate staff of the municipal Department of Health, and police officials, to attend training courses on healthcare and security in Germany.
Vice Chairman Chinh also remarked that the municipal authorities would create favourable conditions for Mr Erich Lejeune and leaders of the University of Da Nang to promote the upgrade of Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of the University of Da Nang into the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in the future.
For his part, Mr Erich Lejeune said, since 2003, his non-profit organisation has lent a hand to the Da Nang authorities to improve healthcare service, and organise training programmes about medicine.
The guest said his organisation would continue giving a help hand to Da Nang to improve the healthcare service, promote the development of the education, and reinforce the security in the years ahead.
In particular, the organisation will fund 6 medical workers in the city to attend a training course about family doctor model in Germany in May.
Also, English training courses will be organised for lecturers of the University of Da Nang to prepare for the establishment of the new University of Medicine and Pharmacy in the city.
Besides, the ‘Heart for Heart’ organisation will act as bridge between the Munich and Da Nang authorities in order to help Da Nang learn experience from Munich about traffic and security control models.
